El Comedor in Great Falls

Service from Kelli was friendly and quick and the salsa was on point! My kid loved his two tacos he actually ate both and more than a few chips.My only issue was with my food. The burrito had nothing on top. I’ve had burritos almost everywhere and they always have cheese melted on top and some sort of salsa. I pretty much had a soft taco with food inside. I poured y’alls salsa on top just to add something to it. The beans were hard to eat because they hardened quick. I’m not sure if y’all have queso dip but I asked for it and got nacho cheese sauce. I am not one to complain about food so I ate it and will come back because I liked your salsa and the quick service but was surprised by the burrito and beans and cheese dip

I have been eating At the El Comedor scene it opened at the old Pin & Que. I love the fat Alberto!!!!

I am taking into account the date an time we were there. They were very busy but we were seated right away. Our waitress was wonderful. She was really busting her tail. I did have a few problems. First was when my meal came it was supposed to come with sour cream an salsa. Both were missing from my plate. Also my burrito was something I could have taken out of my freezer at home. All it was was some meat in a tortilla an deep fried. There was nothing else to it. I was so disappointed. My second problem was one of the other servers. She had severe body odor. Every time she passed by our table I could smell it. After her third time passing by I had to leave or get sick. Next time I want Mexican food I will either try another place or stay home an see what I can pull from my freezer.

The food was terrible! It had absolutely no seasoning, it had 3 green pepper slices in the fajitas, no tomatoes with the taco or fajitas, the tamales were awful. Do NOT, i repeat, DO NOT order a Fat Alberto 🤢. It was over priced, waaaay over priced, and you get 1 tiny little bowl of chips, and then its 4 dollars for another tiny bowl of chips. Biggest waste of 84 dollars ive ever spent in my life! Not authentic, not even mexican if you want to be honest.

1st thing the staff was on their game. Quick to seat with a friendly greeting. Asking if we needed time with menu. (Yes it seems obvious, but some places aren't great at this) The guys clearing tables were quick and thorough. Everyone worked as a good group. The food was great, as usual. A tamale and Lolita. And really fast getting to the table, the kitchen was firing on all cylinders. A Great Falls Montana restaurant that does a good job of being a local business. Shopping local helps us stay strong.

Amazing food!!!! The waitress checked on us several times amd was friendly. She was great with the kids as we have 4. The kids liked the food.

Horrible food, everything is from a can. Tea has no flavor, salsa is just dirty water with red pepper. I have never eaten cardboard but I would guess it has more flavor and its softer than their Carne Asada.

I expected beef in my enchilada but got ground beef. The chicken was tough. But the margarita was good

Went during the busy lunch hour. The service was fast, we got our food quickly. The Fluffy tacos are delicious 😋. I'll definitely go back.

Not good! Meat tough long pieces no spice/flavorless. Beans, guacamole ok. Wish I could be more positive, but for $22 it wasn't worth it!!

El Comedor is such a Great Falls classic staple! With their one of a kind fluffy tacos & the yummy lolitas! You have to try them!!

Always love this place! The Fluffy Tacos are awesome! Owners are nice! Always stop in. Some Love this place, some don't. Been going since I was just a kid.

I have had their cheese enchiladas before and were good but lately they have been skimping on the sauce and it just ruins the quality of them.

Great service and great food. The reason I don't give them the five stars is cuz the last time me and my husband went the beans had too much pepper on the like too much, from all the times we been there the beans were never like that . Beans are really important on a Mexican dish, and I can say that cause I am Mexican. Also the rice tasted off too. But the rest of the dish were delicious but the rice and beans were just nasty and that's very important people. But good environment!

Mexicans don't live in Montana. So, on the Montana-Mex scale, it's easily a 3 star. On the Great Falls-Mex scale, it's a 4 star. The Fluffy Tacos, Pollo Ahumado, fajitas, and house made hot sauce are my favorites. The wait staff is very friendly. It's the only place in Great Falls (including liquor stores) to find fine tequila - so you can get a real top shelf margarita. Cleanliness is on par with the Great Falls standard for mom n pop places. If you live here, you know what that means. The refried beans are my only complaint because they taste canned, but I do recommend it and will be back.

Queso was for sure pretty lame, and the waitress wouldn't allow a splash of lemonade in my ice tea that was included in the combo meal. However the rest of it was pretty decent with the price considered.

A Great Falls Favorite! Love their hot sauce and I love their Fluffy Tacos! Fat Alberto’s band Tamales are also a favorite. Have you tried their fried ice cream? Omg it’s so good! If you’ve never eaten here at least give it a try! You won’t be disappointed with the amount of food they feed you! And chips and salsa before the meal!

A Great Falls gem. People coming here expecting truly authentic Mexican will be disappointed, but that is not the point. They want to serve delicious food, and with their fluffy taco shells and infamous homemade hot sauce, they do just that while filling a niche in the local restaurant scene. The owners demand a spotless, sanitary kitchen and the help is always on point. If you are from out of town and looking for a place that is uniquely Great Falls, visit the El Comedor. Order a Fat Alberto, fluffy taco, and beef cheese crisp. You're welcome.

This place is my all time favorite place. Best chili relleno ever. The hot sauce is unique af. If I could eat here every week I would, probably every day. I was born in Benefis after my mom ate here 40 years ago. They didn't know I was gonna be born that day. But the spicy hot sauce and relleno is probably what moved me along. Lol. I still loooove the ElComedore, it was my grandparents fav Mexican place too. Nachos are delicious. Margaritas great. Tacos and fat Alberto's yum.

Had the smoked pork it was good but different never had that before at a Mexican restaurant. I would give it 4 stars but their salsa clearly came out of a jar and was not made fresh.

First off, the service and waitress was great. Polite and timely.That out of the way, the food was terrible. I couldn't believe how bad it was.The taquitos were microwave walmart brand. The meat in them had turned to mush. Inedible.The "lolita" was nothing but a fried tortilla with guacamole, lettuce and a radish on it. $7 at the time of this writing. Not worth it.The famous "fluffy" taco was cooked in old grease to fluff it and it seeped grease that tasted old and spoiled and it turned the beef and gave a terrible flavor. The last item, a burrito was microwaved with the lettuce inside. This mixed with the awful cheese and we couldn't eat it.The sides, rice and beans, were from a can, flavorless and covered with a cheese that only could be described as melted Kraft cheese. 0 stars.

The beef fluffy tacos are the best! The staff is friendly and casual and the food came out so quickly!

First time eating here with my wife. Wasn’t expecting much to be honest. Chips were served cold and the salsa had no flavor whatsoever. Refried beans and rice were both overcooked and tasted very bland. One thing I did enjoy was the fluffy taco! It had a great texture and flavor. Would I come back here? Most likely no, because I know how good Mexican food should taste.

Cinco de mayo was a huge hit , the service was amazing , the food is not like any other tacos in town and really missed el elcomedor during the closure. Dine local and support the restaurant.. amazing people that own and work hard to support great falls and try the fluffy tacos and there margaritas.

The food is meh at best. Margaritas are good. Come for the drinks, go someplace else for dinner.

Excell fast took our order and came back with it in minutes Food was great. Never would have expected such fast service.

Go to this restaurant almost weekly and always get the Fluffy Tacos and Fat Alberto!!! Chips and salsa is always amazing and so full of flavor along with the hot sauce!!! I recommend this place to anyone and everyone! It is the best Mexican food ever! And the staff is always so fast and wonderful! You guys do an amazing job!!

Fluffy tacos are the best hands down. Every November when I visit from Oklahoma I eat there a couple of times!

Terrible food. It's not authentic Mexican Food. It terrible. Taco Bell, Taco Treat and Taco Time are better. Terrible.

I really wanted to love this place, as ppl rave about it, but I've been disappointed both times I have been there. First, I am totally put off by the unappealing open container of salsa on the table with flies walking around on top. This should have a lid on it and maybe the container cleaned once in a while. The queso was just melted cheese, like from a Velveeta block or canned fake cheese and that's it! No meat, tomatoes, salsa, seasoning or anything added in it. It looked like it was just plopped in a bowl and brought out to our table. I regret not getting a picture of it. For a Mexican restaurant, the queso was a huge disappointment. The service was scarce and it was not during a busy time. The food itself wasn't bad, but nothing to rave about.

I have always liked the tacos here and gotten decent service when dining in but lately I have been just doing pick up only and they have repeatedly made mistakes on take out orders. I kept going back because I like the food but today was the time. I am tired of paying for things that they forget to include and I don't feel like driving all the way back to deal with it. It shouldn't be that hard to take a simple take out order and get it right.
